(CBC News) — The NPF collaborated with a groundbreaking and timely Carleton University study about the mental health impacts on police officers. In our case, just over 1,000 Members completed the survey between October and December 2020, and results showed that a vast majority of Members reported high levels of job stress.
Importantly, the report identified key factors leading to these individual and collective pressure points, including a lack of resourcing and inadequate mental health support provides to Members, but also importantly pointed to the effects on Members and their families, which is simply neither healthy nor sustainable.
